The Thing From Another World #1-2 Complete (1st Miniseries)
Eng | RS & Hotfile | 2 CBR | Dark Horse Comics | Dec 1991 - Jan 1991 | 33 + 34 Pages | 8.45 + 6.86 MB
The Thing From Another World in comic books refer to the miniseries sequels to American director John Carpenter's popular cult film, The Thing published by Dark Horse Comics. The latter was ostensibly a remake of the 1951 Howard Hawks-Christian Nyby film The Thing from Another World, but Carpenter's film is a more faithful adaptation of the novella Who Goes There? by John W. Campbell, Jr. which inspired the 1951 film. Dark Horse Comics published four comic miniseries sequels (The Thing From Another World, The Thing From Another World: Climate of Fear, The Thing From Another World: Eternal Vows, and The Thing From Another World: Questionable Research), featuring the character MacReady (played by actor Kurt Russell in the film) as the lone human survivor of Outpost #31 and depicting Childs (played by actor Keith David) as infected (The Thing From Another World: Climate of Fear Issue 3 of 4). The comic series was titled The Thing from Another World after the original 1951 Howard Hawks film in order to avoid confusion and possible legal conflict with Marvel Comics’ Fantastic Four member, the Thing. This post is the first of the miniseries, consisting of two issues, published December 1, 1991 to January 1, 1992.

Released from its icy prison, The Thing went on a rampage of terror and destruction until one man, MacReady, thought he had destroyed it. He was wrong. He's free of the Antarctic at last, but so is The Thing. Now, in a South American military base, the nightmare begins again, and all humanity is in danger.
